Tread Depth
New tyres commonly have tread depths between 7.0mm – 9.0mm. Keep an eye on tread wear as although tyres have tread wear indicators that show the minimum depth limit of 1.6mm, it is recommended that tyres be replaced before reaching 3.0mm depth for optimal grip.

 

 

Air Pressure
Your vehicle’s recommended tyre pressure is typically listed on a sticker at the driver-side door jamb. Maintain proper tyre inflation including that of the spare tyre before setting off on long road trips to promote even tread wear for safer handling and improved ride comfort.  

Abnormal Signs
Unusual handling, vibration, shaking and noise while driving often relate to tyre problems. Get a professional tyre inspection if punctures, cuts, cracks, bulges or uneven tread wear occurs to assess the need for tyre replacement or services such as alignment, balancing or rotation.  

Life Span
Tyres naturally age and degrade over time even if not in use due to climate and environmental factors which result in loss of tyre grip. Regardless of tread wear, it is generally recommended that tyres be replaced 6 – 10 years from manufacturing date as a road safety precaution.
